Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Burn Dressing

Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Burn Dressing is an advanced antimicrobial silver barrier dressing for burns and acute wounds. It features nanocrystalline silver (NCS) technology that delivers sustained antimicrobial action to help protect wounds against a broad spectrum of pathogens, maintain a moist wound healing environment, and reduce the risk of infection. It consists of three layers: an absorbent inner core sandwiched between outer layers of silver coated, low adherent polyethylene net.

Features:

• Nanocrystalline Silver Antimicrobial Barrier: Releases silver ions that deliver broad-spectrum bactericidal activity in as little as 30 minutes.
• Sustained Antimicrobial Action: The antimicrobial barrier remains active for up to 3 days with a single application, reducing frequency of changes.
• Low-Adherent Design: Minimizes trauma to wound tissue and discomfort during dressing changes.
• Moist Wound Environment: The absorbent inner core supports a moist wound bed conducive to healing.
• Barrier Protection: Helps shield the wound from external contaminants while allowing moisture vapor exchange.
• Conformable: Can be cut to shape to fit various wound sizes and contours.

Indications: Indicated as a silver coated contact layer over partial and full-thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, first- and second degree burns, surgical wounds and donor sites.

Contraindications:

• Known silver sensitivity: Do not use on patients with a documented allergy to silver.
• Not for use with oil-based products: Avoid contact with petrolatum and similar substances.
