Vitale Hydroconductive Rope
Features
Vitale Hydroconductive Wound Dressings &Ropes are made of a proprietary blend of fibers, making a highly absorbent & soft dressing. They create an ideal wound environment and are indicated for the treatment of wounds with moderate to heavy exudation, superficial or deep. Vitale Hydroconductive Dressings are not medicated. The blend of fibers in Vitale Hydroconductive Dressings lift, hold &transfer exudate, wound debris, bacteria & harmful MMP’s away from the wound bed. There are multiple mechanisms of action moving fluids: including capillary, hydroconductive & electrostatic. Vitale Hydroconductive Dressings support the body’s healing process, and aid effective wound bed preparation without damaging granulating tissue. Vitale Hydroconductive Dressings are sterilized by gamma sterilization and must not be re-sterilized.
Indications:
Vitale Hydroconductive Wound Dressings and Ropes may be used for management of acute wounds, including complex surgical wounds & 1st & 2nd degree burns. They also may be used for chronic wounds, including leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers & pressure ulcers (stages II-IV).
Caution:
- Wounds should be reviewed and appropriately managed, under the direction of a medical practitioner.
- A non-adherent contact layer should be used on burns, as well as low-exuding wounds, to prevent adherence to the wound bed.
Do not use if arterial bleeding is present. Not indicated for dry wound conditions or for 3rd degree burns.
Storage:
Vitale Hydroconductive Dressings and Ropes must be stored in a cool & dry area. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.

- Clean and rinse the wound per the usual protocol.
- Vitale Wound Cleanser is ideal for this as it contains zinc to help prepare the wound bed for healing.
- (Dressings) Place the Vitale Hydroconductive Dressing on the moist wound.
- If necessary, fold or cut to adjust to wound size; layers may be used for highly exuding wounds.
- (Ropes) Coil the rope gently into cavity wounds leaving an end or "tail" for easy extraction.
- In case of slightly exuding wounds, moisten the dressing with physiological saline solution.
- Cover with a secondary dressing or bandage of choice.
- Change dressing every 1-3 days, when strike through occurs, or at least every 7 days.
- When changing dressing, remove secondary dressing and gently remove the entire dressing.
