Atos Provox ActiValve Voice Prosthesis

Atos Medical Provox ActiValve Voice Prosthesis is designed for those who experience short device lifetime of Provox1 or Provox2 prosthesis caused by early leakage through the prosthesis due to excessive candida growth and inadvertent opening (and thus leakage) of the valve during swallowing or deep inhalation as the result of negative pressure building in the esophagus or thorax.

• Valve flap and valve seat contains magnets, to help in preventing inadvertent opening.
• Reduces the need of frequent replacements in most patients who experience short device life.
• Valve and valve-seat consist of fluoroplastic which appears to be insusceptible to destruction by biofilm.
• Valve closes with magnets which prevents inadvertent valve opening when the user breathes or swallows.
• Valve flap and valve seat is made of a candida resistent material to help prevent excessive candida overgrowth.
