BALLARD TRACH CARE Double Swivel Elbow, 14Fr
Starts From
Description
The Ballard Trach Care Double Swivel Elbow is a premium closed suction system designed to safely remove secretions from the airways of patients on mechanical ventilation. This 14 French (Fr.) system is engineered to maintain continuous ventilation and oxygen therapy throughout the suctioning procedure, significantly reducing the risk of alveolar collapse. The innovative double swivel elbow design provides maximum flexibility and range of motion without the need for additional connectors, minimizing torque on the patient's airway. Featuring a soft, low-durometer PVC catheter, the device is designed to be gentle on tracheal tissue to minimize trauma. This system is a critical tool in the prevention of Ventilator-Associated Events (VAEs) by maintaining a closed circuit that reduces the potential for infection and environmental contamination. Each single-patient use unit is gamma-sterilized and includes a tactile sleeve for an improved clinical feel during catheter advancement.
Key Benefits & Features
- Continuous Ventilation: Designed to allow for secretional clearance without interrupting oxygenation or mechanical breath delivery.
- Double Swivel Elbow: Dual integrated swivels offer superior flexibility and movement, reducing pull and pressure on the tracheostomy site.
- 14 Fr. Closed System: Features a 4.6mm outside diameter (OD) and a 54cm length specifically optimized for endotracheal (ET) applications.
- Tactile Sleeve: The protective sleeve provides clinicians with a better "feel" and control while navigating the catheter through the airway.
- Lavage & Locking Ports: Includes a dedicated lavage/irrigation port for saline instillation and a locking thumb port to prevent accidental suction activation.
- Universal Connection: Equipped with a 15mm female to 22mm female connector for seamless integration with standard ventilator circuits.
- Atraumatic PVC Catheter: The soft, medical-grade PVC construction is designed to glide easily, protecting delicate tracheal mucosa from irritation.
- Gamma Sterilized: Individually sterilized using gamma radiation to ensure the highest level of safety and infection control for single-patient use.
