Description
Biostep Collagen Matrix Dressing helps overcome barriers to wound closure and restart the healing process. The dressing is highly conformable, easy to apply, and has a 6 day wear time. Biostep is indicated for management of full and partial-thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies, venous ulcers, donor and graft sites, abrasions, traumatic wounds healing by secondary intention, dehisced surgical wounds, first and secondary degree burns.

Indications
Biostep is intended for both acute and chronic wound types:
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous ulcers / mixed vascular ulcers
- First- and second-degree burns
- Donor / graft sites
- Abrasions, dehisced surgical wounds, traumatic wounds healing by secondary intention
How to Use
- Wound Preparation:
- Debride non-viable tissue as needed, cleanse / irrigate the wound.
- Sizing & Application:
- Cut the dressing to exactly match the wound size.
- For wounds with heavy exudate: apply directly.
- For dry/minimal exudate wounds: moisten the wound bed (to help initiate the gelling of the dressing).
- Secondary Dressing:
- Cover with a suitable secondary dressing to hold it in place and manage exudate.
- Change / Removal:
- Replace as needed, based on exudate level or clinical signs.
- Can be left up to 6 days if wound condition allows.
- When removing, do so gently to avoid damaging newly formed or fragile tissue.
Contraindications
- Not to be used on third-degree burns.
- Known allergy or sensitivity to porcine collagen, silver, or any component of the dressing.
Precautions
- Use under supervision if used under compression therapy.
- Use for external wounds only.
- Use only once (single patient use).
- Minimize contact with the intact skin around the wound edges as silver may stain or irritate.
Warranty
- The product warranty is applicable as per the terms and conditions provided by the product manufacturer.
