Q. What makes this hip belt bariatric-specific?
A. The bariatric version is wider and stronger than standard sizes to safely and comfortably accommodate larger users while preserving the same user-friendly features.
Q. What’s the advantage of the center-pull design?
A. The belt tightens evenly from both sides toward the center buckle, allowing for easier and more symmetrical adjustment—especially helpful when caregivers are applying the belt.
Q. Is the belt comfortable without padding?
A. Yes, many users prefer the non-padded version for its breathability and lower profile. However, optional slip-on pads are available for added cushioning and comfort.
Q. How does the push-button buckle work?
A. It’s a sleek, low-profile buckle that securely locks with a simple push mechanism. Its snag-free edges and easy-to-clean surface make it ideal for clinical or home use.
Q. Will this belt help someone who tends to slide forward in their wheelchair?
A. Yes. When properly positioned across the pelvis, the belt prevents forward sliding and helps maintain an upright seated posture, which is especially helpful for users with limited trunk control.
Q. How easy is it for a caregiver to adjust or remove the belt?
A. The center-pull design and push-button buckle make it quick and simple for caregivers to adjust tension or release the belt during transfers or repositioning.
Q. What is special about Bodypoint’s proprietary webbing?
A. The webbing is soft against the skin yet firm enough to resist twisting and sagging. Its unique weave allows it to slide easily through mounting hardware while staying strong over time.
