Q. What is the Bodypoint Non-Padded Hip Belt used for?
A. This hip belt is designed to help safely position individuals in
wheelchairs, particularly those with low muscle tone or pelvic instability. It
supports posture correction, reduces fall risk, and helps prevent sliding,
sacral sitting, or pelvic rotation.
Q. Is this belt comfortable for long-term use?
A. While the belt itself is non-padded, it’s made from soft, proprietary
webbing that’s gentle on skin. For added comfort and pressure distribution,
compatible Bodypoint Slip-on Pads can be used, especially for extended wear.
Q. What are the key features of the push button buckle?
A. The low-profile push button buckle is user-friendly, easy to clean,
snag-free, and highly durable. It allows for center-pull tightening, making it
operable by either the user or caregiver for quick and secure adjustments.
Q. What size is the bariatric version of this belt?
A. The L-EXT (Large Extended) size features a 2" wide strap with a maximum
length of 81 inches, accommodating bariatric users while maintaining secure fit
and function.
Q. Is this hip belt compatible with other wheelchair accessories?
A. It’s compatible with most wheelchair models and positioning aids. For
users at higher risk of sliding or with pelvic rotation, consider pairing with
sub-ASIS pads or upgrading to a 4-point belt or Evoflex® system.
Q. How do I know if this is the right hip belt for my needs?
A. If the goal is positioning over padding—especially for users with
posterior/anterior pelvic tilt or pelvic obliquity—this belt offers reliable
support. However, for greater comfort or advanced positioning, a padded or
four-point option may be more appropriate.
