Bodypoint® PivotFit™ standard shoulder harness features non-stretch is designed to accommodate serious positioning needs such as severe kyphosis, spinal curvature, or trunk rotation. To better accommodate individual user needs, the PivotFit™ harness now includes multi-directional (MD) pull straps that can be configured as either front-pull or rear-pull at the time of fitting. The PivotFit™ standard shoulder harness has a one-of-a-kind shape that contours the shoulders and rib cage for a more supportive and comfortable fit. The new swivel buckle is twice as strong as competing models and allows for precise pad placement for a custom fit. Bodypoint® PivotFit™ shoulder harness reduces the risk of strangulation while providing easy adjustability thanks to curved Laminar Pad™s and a low-placed sternum strap.
Grommet straps, which are optional, can be used as an alternative attachment method. For a more compact front-pull installation, attach grommet straps to the ends of MD pull straps.
FeaturesThis trunk support requires a solid wheelchair back option.
User Issues: Shoulder rotation, spine stiffness/ pain, asymmetrical head position, scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis | Product Examples: For maximum shoulder retraction, consider the trimline harness (worn backpack style). For balanced shoulder/sternal support, choose the Dynamic PivotFit™ for more torso movement, or the standard version for spinal curvature and asymmetry. |

Q. How does the PivotFit differ from other Bodypoint harnesses?
A. The PivotFit stands out with its single-piece, stretchable pad that
pivots at the sternum strap, allowing it to adapt to the user’s body shape and
movements. Unlike the Trimline Harness, it provides broader chest coverage and
is designed for users needing more comprehensive trunk support rather than
focused shoulder retraction.
Q. Can the harness be used in both front-pull and rear-pull
configurations?
A. Yes, the PivotFit features MD pull straps that can be set up as either
front-pull or rear-pull during fitting. This flexibility accommodates user
independence or caregiver assistance, and the configuration can be chosen at
installation, not at purchase.
Q. What type of wheelchair is compatible with the PivotFit Harness?
A. The PivotFit requires a solid or rigid wheelchair backrest for proper
attachment, as the top straps are screwed into the backrest. It is not
compatible with sling-back wheelchairs unless used with additional accessories
like Bodypoint Strap Guides.
Q. Which end-fitting option should I choose?
A. The harness offers flat-mount or cinch-mount end fittings:
Q. Are strap guides necessary for installation?
A. Strap guides are recommended for wheelchairs with low, curved, or
non-standard backrests to optimize strap placement. They allow adjustments to
the strap’s height, angle, and horizontal position for improved support and
comfort. Strap guides are sold separately.
Q. Can the harness be adjusted for different body shapes?
A. Yes, the PivotFit’s adjustable sternum strap and MD pull straps allow for
a customized fit. The elastic pad stretches to accommodate various torso shapes,
making it suitable for users with unique body contours or asymmetry.
