Cardinal Petrolatum Emulsion Contact Layer is a sterile, occlusive wound dressing made with a flexible, non-adherent knitted cellulose acetate fabric coated with a formulated petrolatum emulsion. It is used to help aid fluid transfer into the secondary dressing. The non-adherent property of the dressing helps to facilitate atraumatic removal by providing protection to the wound bed during dressing changes.

Indications
May be used to allow passage of exudate and protection of the wound bed during dressing changes for a wide variety of partial to full-thickness wounds, including:

- Lacerations and abrasions
- Cosmetic surgery sites
