Vitále Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings are non-adherent occlusive dressings made of fine mesh gauze impregnated with 3% Xeroform (Bismuth Tribromophenate) in petrolatum. Xeroform Dressings are sterile, single-use devices.

How To Apply
- Clean and rinse the wound, using saline or appropriate wound cleanser.
- Before applying, skin around the wound should be clean and dry. Use a skin barrier prep as needed.
- Using aseptic techniques, remove dressing from package and apply to moist wound bed.
- Cover with a secondary absorbent dressing, and secure as appropriate.
- Dressing change as directed, when strike through occurs, or at least every 7 days.
Indications
Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings are intended for use as a primary contact layer to dress wounds such as lacerations, skin graft sites, newly sutured wounds, abrasions and minor or partial thickness burns. They may also be used as an initial layer in dressing pressure wounds with light exudate.

CAUTION
- Do not use on patients with hypersensitivity to Bismuth Tribromohenate.
- Caution should be used when there is a history of atopy.
- Do not use on heavily draining wounds.
- Do not use if unit package is opened or damaged.
- Avoid multiple layers which may lead to maceration.
- Discontinue use if irritation develops.
- Avoid excessive packing and resultant pressure on the wound.
Side Effects & Interactions: Irritation, though rare, may develop in atopic patients or in patients sensitive to Bismuth Tribromophenate.
Storage: Vitále Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings should be stored in a cool & dry area. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.
