- The potential effects of phthalates on pregnant/nursing women or children have not been fully characterized and there may be concern for reproductive and developmental effects.
Instructions For Use:
- Prepare the irrigation/enema solution according to healthcare provider recommendations
- Fill the irrigation/enema delivery system with prepared solution, leaving delivery tubing clamped.
- Connect the flared fitting of the Chait Access Adapter to the irrigation/ enema delivery system tubing.
- Open the clamp on the delivery system tubing and fill the tubing and adapter with prepared solution.
- Close the clamp on the delivery system tubing.
- Open the Chait trapdoor mechanism.
- Connect the Chait Access Adapter to the open Chait trapdoor.
- Insert the metal cannula of the adapter into the lumen of the catheter and align the hole in the plastic block with the pin in the trapdoor cover.
- Advance the adapter until the pin and cannula are fully seated.
- Open the clamp and allow irrigation/enema solution to flow through the Chait catheter into the bowel.
- Once irrigation/enema is complete, disconnect the irrigation/enema set and Chait Access Adapter from the Chait catheter.
- Close the Chait catheter trapdoor fitting.
- Clean the Chait Access Adapter and the irrigation/enema set with a solution of warm soapy water, rinse until no soap remains, and allow to dry before storing.
- Store the Chait Access Adapter at room temperature in a clean, dry location.
Other Information:
- Supplied in individual peel-open packages sterilized by ethylene oxide gas.
- Intended for single patient use.
- Upon removal from package, inspect the product to ensure no damage has occurred.
- Product may be cleaned and re-used for a single patient.
