Maintenance

• Follow hospital/clinician protocol.
• Flush q4h with ≤20 mL water (≤10 mL in pediatrics) before/after meds or feeding interruptions.

Warnings

• No forward leaning or neck extension during insertion
• Pre-measure length; never over-insert (risk of kinking)
• Cough/resistance → suspect tracheal placement → remove immediately
• Always confirm gastric position before use
• Never reinsert stylet in situ
• Avoid forceful syringing

Note: Crush tablets finely and dilute fully (no particles) to prevent clogging.
