Description
Drive Medical DeVilbiss Vacu-Aide Suction Machine is a specialized medical aspirator engineered for tracheostomy care and airway management. By utilizing powerful suction to remove mucus, saliva, blood, and other secretions, this device helps patients maintain a clear airway for improved breathing. Designed for portability and ease of use, it features a lightweight frame and a high-performance lithium-ion battery, operating more quietly than many comparable high-pressure portable units. Its compatibility with standard clinical accessories ensures it integrates seamlessly into existing care routines.
Features and Specifications:
- Compact footprint and lightweight construction for enhanced mobility.
- Total weight of only 1.72kg (including battery), making it easy to transport between locations.
- Internal Li-ion battery (7325P) offers a 45-minute runtime with a quick 3-hour recharge time and a 1-year battery warranty.
- Integrated suction tube holder designed to improve hygiene and provide convenience during use.
- Adjustable vacuum settings from 50 - 550mmHg featuring a shock-protected gauge for durability.
- Simple, maintenance-free operation designed for user efficiency.
- Discreet operation possible while housed inside the specialized personal carry case.
- Padded shoulder bag includes a transparent viewing panel for real-time secretion monitoring and internal compartments for organized accessory storage.
- Comprehensive power options including a 100-240 V power supply and a 12 V DC car adapter.
- Standard 800ml collection canister included, designed for easy installation and removal.
- Compatible with optional accessories such as a 1200ml reusable autoclavable canister and the Flovac disposable liner system.
- Top-facing LED control lights allow for immediate verification of the unit’s charging status.
- High-capacity performance with a free flow suction rate of up to 27l/min.
- Dual safety mechanisms, including mechanical overflow protection and a hydrophobic filter, prevent fluid from entering the pump.
- Supports a full range of VacuAide accessories, including tubing, filters, and canisters.
- Also available as a mains-only version (D model) for those who do not require a battery, car adapter, or carry case.
Intended Use:
The device is to be used to remove fluids from the airway or respiratory support system. The device creates a negative pressure (vacuum) that draws fluids through disposable tubing that is connected to a collection container. The fluids are trapped in the collection container for proper disposal. It is for use on the order of a physician only.
Contraindications (specific situation in which the device shall not be used)
The Vacu-Aide should not be used for:
- Thoracic drainage
- Nasogastric suction
Contents:
- Drive DeVilbiss Vacu-Aide Suction Unit
- Power Supply (AC/DC Adapter)
- AC Power Cord
- DC Power Cord (Auto Adapter)
- 6’ (1.8 m) Patient Tubing
- Container Assembly
- Carrying Case (7325P series)
- Instructions for Use
Note: Contents vary by model.
Storage:
When not in use, your device should be stored in a cool, dry location.
- Do not store batteries longer than 1 year without recharge.
- Lithium ion batteries can be stored from -20˚C to 60˚C (-4˚F to 140˚F) at up to 90% relative humidity.
Recommendation: Store the battery below 60˚C (140˚F), low humidity, no dust and no corrosive gas atmosphere. Store fully charged if possible. Avoid storage in direct sunlight. High temperature storage (above 40˚C / 104˚F), such as in a hot car, may degrade battery performance and reduce battery life. Low temperature storage may affect battery performance. The best battery charge conditions are within a temperature range of 0˚C to 45˚C (32˚F to 113˚F) at up to 90% relative humidity. If the battery temperature exceeds 45˚C (113˚F), the device will not charge the battery. Charging will be resumed when the battery temperature drops to 44˚C (111˚F) or below.
