EleCare Jr DHA & Lutein Nutrition is a clinically formulated, hypoallergenic amino acid-based formula designed to meet the unique nutritional requirements of children aged 1 year and older who cannot tolerate milk, soy, or protein hydrolysate formulas. This advanced formula supports healthy growth and development in children with severe food allergies or cow's milk allergy when used as a primary source of calories. Enriched with DHA and lutein, it promotes optimal brain and eye development. EleCare Jr DHA & Lutein also provides 100% or more of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) for protein and 25 essential vitamins and minerals for children aged 1 to 13 years. For the treatment of protein malnutrition, malabsorption, food allergies, short-bowel syndrome, eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases, Gastrointestinal Tract dysfunction, and other conditions that necessitate an amino acid-based diet.

Instructions for Use: Your child's health depends on carefully following these directions. Ask your child's doctor if you need to use cooled, boiled water for formula preparation. Depending on the child's specific needs, preparation will vary as prescribed by the physician. Follow the physician's instructions carefully.

• Wash your hands, surfaces, and utensils. Pour the desired amount of water into a clean container (see Powder Mixing Guide).
• Add powder; return dry scoop to can.
• Cap container; shake well. Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.

Never use a microwave to warm formula. Serious burns can result.

Storage & Handling

• Once mixed, store the container of prepared formula in the refrigerator and feed it to the child within 24 hours.
• Store unopened or opened containers at room temperature; avoid extreme temperatures.
• Use opened cans within 1 month.

Could the change cause gastrointestinal (GI) tolerance issues for my child?

Elecare would not expect GI tolerance issues with this change in formulation.

Could my child be allergic to the updated formulation?

The reformulated EleCare Jr is still a hypoallergenic, amino acid-based formula. EleCare has been clinically shown to be hypoallergenic, virtually eliminating the potential for an allergic reaction to the formula in children with food allergies.

What is the change in mixing instructions?

Gram scale mixing instructions when mixed at 30 kcal/fl oz changed from 4 scoops and 38 g to 4 scoops and 36.3 g per 5 fl oz of water, for an approximate yield of 6 fl oz.

What is lutein?

Lutein is a carotenoid found in leafy green foods and important for overall health, including eye and brain development.

Will the updated EleCare Jr formula taste different?

You may notice a difference in the taste, color, and/or smell of the updated formulation.
