Flexi-Seal Protect FMS is intended to collect feces from individuals with fecal incontinence or non-ambulatory patients with loose stools. The ConvaTec Flexi-Seal FMS Kit inserts a retention balloon into the rectum to ensure safe and effective fecal collection. Convatec makes it simple to use by inserting the lubricated tip into the rectum via a safe blue finger pocket. Once in place, the balloon is inflated to keep the blue port from slipping out. The port reduces the likelihood of fecal exposure and prevents overinflation. The contents of the collection bag are only visible through a small window, allowing caregivers to monitor the volume while maintaining privacy.
