Description

Maxorb II Alginate Dressings offer advanced, extremely absorbent wound treatment for moderate-to-heavy draining wounds. These dressings, made entirely of calcium alginate, provide excellent absorption and fluid management, making them suited for both partial and full-thickness wounds. The vertical fluid wicking function helps to avoid periwound skin maceration, and the long wear life of up to seven days decreases the need for frequent dressing changes. Maxorb II is a dependable option for healthcare providers seeking effective, long-term wound care treatments.

Features:

  • Superior Absorption: Made from 100% calcium alginate, it has great fluid absorption properties and is good for wounds that drain moderately to extensively.
  • Vertical Fluid Wicking: Effectively wicks fluid vertically, lowering the danger of periwound skin maceration and increasing overall skin health around the wound.
  • Long Wear Time: Can be left in place for up to seven days to reduce dressing changes and improve patient comfort.
  • Easy Application and Removal: It is designed for easy application and removal, resulting in a smooth and fast dressing change experience.
  • Prevents Periwound Skin Damage: Helps to prevent maceration of the surrounding skin, keeping the region around the wound safe and healthy.
  • Promotes Fast Healing: Keeps the healing environment wet while optimally controlling exudate to speed up the wound healing process.
  • Wet-Strength Integrity: Ensures that the dressing retains its integrity, decreasing residual material in the wound and simplifying dressing changes.

Indications:

  • Moderate to heavily exudating partial to full thickness wounds.
  • Post-operative wounds.
  • Trauma wounds.
  • Ulcers: leg, pressure, diabetic.
  • Graft and donor sites.
  • 1st and 2nd degree burns.

Contraindications:

  • Third degree burns
  • dry or lightly draining wounds,
  • individuals with a known sensitivity to alginates
  • to control heavy bleeding
  • for use as a surgical sponge.

Frequency Of Dressing Change: Maxorb II can be remained in place for up to 7 days, depending on the wound's health and drainage level. Change when the secondary dressing becomes saturated or starts to leak. Dressings for wounds that drain heavily should be changed on a daily basis. As leakage diminishes, clothing changes may become less common.

Precautions: The dressing will form a gel-like consistency as it absorbs drainage. Discontinue use if signs of irritation or sensitivity appear and consult a healthcare professional.

Storage: Protect from freezing and avoid excessive heat. Store below 77°F (25°C).
