LMD Leucine-Free Infant Formula

LMD is a specialized, iron-fortified infant formula and medical food powder formulated for infants, children, and adults with documented leucine metabolism disorders, including isovaleric acidemia. This formula is free of the essential amino acid leucine and contains all other essential and nonessential amino acids, carbohydrates, fats, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. It is intended for use under direct and continuing medical supervision.

Ingredients: Corn syrup solids, vegetable oil (palm olein oil, coconut oil, soy oil, high oleic sunflower oil), amino acids (L-alanine, L-lysine hydrochloride, potassium aspartate, L-proline, L-arginine, glycine, L-threonine, L-phenylalanine, L-tyrosine, L-serine, L-valine, L-isoleucine, L-histidine, L-methionine, L-tryptophan, L-cystine), modified corn starch, sugar, calcium phosphate and less than 1%: Mortierella alpina oil, Crypthecodinium cohnii oil, ethyl vanillin, sodium citrate, potassium citrate, magnesium oxide, ferrous sulfate, potassium chloride, zinc sulfate, cupric sulfate, manganese sulfate, sodium iodide, sodium selenite, choline chloride, inositol, ascorbic acid, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B6 hydrochloride, thiamin hydrochloride, riboflavin, vitamin D3, folic acid, biotin, vitamin K1, vitamin E acetate, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin B12, taurine, L-carnitine.

Preparation & Dilution: Use only as directed by a healthcare professional. Proper hygiene, preparation, dilution, and storage are essential. Powdered products are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants or immunocompromised individuals without medical supervision. Mix powder with cooled, boiled water as instructed, shaking thoroughly until fully blended.

If using the scoop provided, each unpacked, level scoop provides approximately 4.5 g of powder. Keep the scoop dry when stored in the can.

Storage: Store unopened cans at room temperature. After opening, tightly cover and store in a dry area, using the contents within 1 month. Avoid freezing and excessive heat. Use-by date is printed on the bottom of the can.

Warnings & Cautions:

• Do not heat in a microwave; serious burns may occur.
• Failure to follow instructions could result in harm; the prepared product spoils quickly. Feed immediately or refrigerate at 35–40°F (2–4°C) for no more than 24 hours. Discard after 1 hour of use.
• LMD is nutritionally incomplete; other food sources must provide leucine to meet dietary needs.
• Use only under direct and continuous medical supervision with regular monitoring and blood tests.
• Not for parenteral (I.V.) use.
