The Safetac technology layer seals the wound margins, preventing exudate from leaking into the surrounding skin and reducing the danger of maceration. Mepilex Ag begins to inactivate wound-related microorganisms within 30 minutes and has a sustained impact for up to 7 days. By reducing the number of microorganisms, dressing may also reduce odor. Indications:

• Antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing that is designed for the management of low to moderately exuding wounds such as: leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns.

Precautions:

• Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to silver.
• Do not use dressing during radiation treatment or examinations e.g. X-ray, ultrasound, diathermy or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
