Mepilex Border Ag Antimicrobial Foam Dressing

Mepilex Border Ag Antimicrobial Sterile Foam Dressing is an all-in-one antimicrobial foam dressing that effectively absorbs and retains exudate while keeping the wound moist. The dressing contains silver sulfate, which helps to decrease microbial colonization on the dressing. The Safetac technology layer covers the wound margins, keeping exudate from seeping onto the surrounding skin and reducing the danger of maceration. Allows the dressing to be changed without causing damage to the wound or surrounding skin, or exposing the patient to further pain. The dressing begins to inactivate wound-related microorganisms within 30 minutes and maintains its effectiveness for up to 7 days. By lowering the odor and amount of germs.

Dressing Composition:

• Safetac Technology: Reduces patient pain and trauma to the wound and surrounding skin during removal, lowering the risk of maceration.
• Backing film: provides a moisture, virus, and bacterial barrier. High permeability allows for effective moisture vapor transport.
• Non-woven layer: Spreads fluid for better vapor transport.
• The super-absorbent layer: Absorbs and retains exudate from the pad beneath it, keeping it safe from the wound and surrounding skin.
• Compressed silver foam: absorbs and spreads exudate while allowing silver to be discharged.

Indications:

• Indicated for the management of exuding wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure injuries, traumatic and surgical wounds, superficial and partial thickness burns.
• Can also be used under compression bandaging.

Directions for use: Before applying the dressing, clean the wound. Also, ensure that the dressing foam overlaps the wound bed by at least 2 cm on the surrounding skin.

Wear time: Can be left on for up to 7 days, depending on the patient, the condition of the wound, and the surrounding skin, or as recommended by accepted clinical practice.
