Mepitel One Sided Soft Silicone Wound Contact Layer Dressing
Starts From
Description
Mepitel One Sided Soft Silicone Wound Contact Layer is a sterile, transparent, perforated, and non-absorbant dressing. The dressing has a Safetac wound contact layer, a novel adhesive technology that lowers discomfort for patients and harm to the wound and surrounding skin during removal. The perforated design allows exudate to pass into an outside absorbent dressing, reducing the need for frequent dressing changes near to the wound and allowing for easier outer dressing changes with less pain and trauma. It can also function as a standalone dressing to protect damaged skin. Minimize overlap and wrinkles, especially when it is applied in a circular or wrapped manner, to reduce the risk of stasis in the wound area and limb.
Features:
- Safetac interface minimizes pain and trauma at dressing changes.
- Allows exudate to pass into an outer absorbent dressing, minimizing the risk of maceration.
- Features transparent, flexible, thin and perforated polyurethane film.
- Supports undisturbed wound healing.
- Minimizes pain and skin damage for patients.
- Transparent design enables wound assessment without removal.
- Allows exudate to pass into an outer absorbent dressing.
- Can be used under compression products and in combination with gels.
- Can remain in place for up to 14 days.
Dressing consists of:
- A soft silicone wound contact layer (Safetac) on one side.
- A transparent, flexible, thin and perforated polyurethane film.
Indications:
- A wound contact layer designed for the management of a wide range of exuding wounds such as: skin tears, skin abrasions, surgical incisions, partial thickness burns, traumatic wounds, partial and full thickness grafts, radiated skin, leg and foot ulcers.
- It can also be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds, blisters and on areas with fragile skin.
Directions to use:
- Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical practice and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- Choose a size of dressing that covers the wound and surrounding skin by at least 2 cm. If needed, cut the dressing. For larger wounds, additional overlap is required.
- Remove the protective plastic layers and apply with the sticky side to the wound. The dressing is applied correctly when the printed text is readable. Smooth the dressing onto the surrounding skin to create a good seal. If more than one piece is used, overlap the dressings and ensure the perforations remain unobstructed.
- Apply an outer absorbent dressing, on top of Mepitel One and fixate.
