Engineered for Effortless Folding: FreeFold Technology:
The standout FreeFold cross-brace design redefines folding wheelchairs by significantly reducing the effort needed to fold and unfold. Its precisely engineered geometry allows for seamless folding without affecting wheel camber or stability. Whether you're folding it for transport or daily storage, the QS5 X maintains a solid upright position, enhancing convenience and safety.
Fold-n-Lock Feature: Secure & Convenient:
An optional Fold-n-Lock mechanism clicks securely into place, keeping the wheelchair folded without the need to hold it shut. This makes lifting, storing, and transporting the QS5 X smoother and more manageable.
Exceptional Ride Performance with Oval Tubing:
The 4-arm cross-brace uses s ovalized tubing, known for its strength and stiffness. Borrowed from the QUICKIE Nitrum design, this innovative structure resists flexing and enhances the QS5 X's ride performance—delivering a rigid feel and efficient self-propulsion typically found in rigid-frame wheelchairs.
Ergonomic Touch Points:
Strategically placed at key lifting and handling zones (knee-bend, caster link, back frame) for comfort and scratch protection during transfers and transport.
Patented 3-Way Caster Link Adjustment:
Maintain straight tracking and reduce energy loss with fine-tuned, user-friendly caster alignment. Less counter-steering, more efficiency.

Please call us for specific details.
Does caster fork length make a difference?
Caster fork length makes a difference to the turning circle - if the fork is longer then the wheelchair is harder to maneuver.
Can you supply 26" lightweight wheels?
No, not on lightweight Proton or Spinergy wheels.
Can you supply 26" rear wheels?
Yes, on everything but the lightweight Proton or Spinergy wheels.
Is the Surge hand rim mounting different on a 12-spoke Spinergy rear wheel than a lightweight rear wheel?
Yes, on the lightweight wheel the Surge hand rim is mounted only with a screw, and on the Spinergy wheels the hand rim is mounted with a screw and fixed with an extra nut. The extra nut is included in the kit.
What is the caster axle size used with the frog leg forks?
They use a 45mm (1.77") caster axle.
What is the difference between forwards and backwards center of gravity?
Forwards makes it more active, which is more tippy but a more efficient ride. Backwards makes it more stable, which is more suitable for those with leg amputations/clients that sit most of their weight onto the back of the wheelchair.
Can the backrest height be adjusted?
Yes, by raising and lowering the push handles in the rear side frame or back frame one can adjust the back height.
Are there any measuring tools for measuring a user when prescribing a wheelchair?
Yes. The article number is: JCALIPER.
Where can I find the serial number on my wheelchair?
Your serial number is usually found on the frame underneath the seat (or on the cross brace of a folding wheelchair). It will be a white sticker with a barcode and a series of numbers.
I've scratched the frame of my wheelchair. Do you offer touch-up paint?
Unfortunately we don't. However, nail varnish is an extremely inexpensive and easy way of fixing any small scratches or blemishes to your wheelchair's frame.
What wheelchair cushions are available?
There are a number of different wheelchair cushions available. You can view our complete range of JAY wheelchair cushions online.
Can I get my wheelchair in different colors?
Yes you can! You can find the list of available colors on the product's order form. If you're looking for something more unique, our Built-4-Me team can help supply a product to your specific needs.
What receivers are used for the powered articulating leg rest hangers?
They use the normal swing-away hanger receivers (that are used for 70° hanger). Both are swing-away.
For the backrest angle, which angles need to be selected on the order form for the backrest to be angled forwards?
Any angles selected with a minus number for example -12° are for backrests angled forwards. Any angles that are higher than zero will angle the backrest with a slight recline.
