How to Prepare Renastart Oral Supplement for Kidney Disease:
Renastart is often combined with water. Follow the preparation instructions provided by your nutritionist or doctor.
1 level scoop of Renastart (7 g) to 30 ml of water (1 fl oz) yields a typical dilution of approximately 30 kcal/fl oz or 1 kcal/ml. For the best results, use the can's scoop or a gram scale.
- Clean your hands, as well as the surfaces, utensils, and feeding container.
- Boil the water and leave it to cool for no more than 30 minutes to ensure it is at least 158°F (70°C).
- Fill the feed container with the desired amount of water. Do not use softened water or water that has been repeatedly boiled.
- Add the recommended number of scoops of Renastart to the water, leveling off each scoop with the back of a clean dry knife. Put the dry scoop in the Renastart container.
- Seal the feed container and shake well until the powder is dissolved. Before feeding, check the temperature; the meal should be warm or cool but not hot.
- Renastart is now ready to use.
Refrigerate any prepared feed and use it within 24 hours. Shake again before using.
Renastart should not be heated in a microwave since uneven heating can result in a burn. It should not be boiled.
