SilverDerm 7 Silver Contact Layer is a sterile, porous, non-adherent wound contact dressing designed to provide sustained antimicrobial protection while enhancing patient comfort. Knitted from nylon and plated with 99% elemental silver and 1% silver oxide, it creates an effective antimicrobial barrier for up to seven days while allowing wound exudate to pass through to a secondary dressing. How to Apply
- Apply SilverDerm 7 Silver Contact Layer directly to the wound surface
- Ensure full wound coverage while maintaining contact with the wound bed
- Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing to manage exudate
- May be left in place for up to 7 days, as clinically appropriate
Indications for Use
SilverDerm 7 Silver Contact Layer is indicated for use up to 7 days on partial- and full-thickness wounds, including:
- Traumatic wounds
- Surgical wounds (donor sites, graft sites, and incisions)
- First- and second-degree burns
- Dermal ulcers, including:
- Stage 1-4 pressure injuries
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Arterial ulcers
- Diabetic ulcers
- Vascular access or peripheral IV sites
- Orthopedic external pin sites
- Wound drain sites
- Infected and painful wounds
Contraindications
- Contraindicated for patients with known sensitivity to silver or nylon
- Not intended for use on third-degree burns
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not use petroleum-based ointments or creams under SilverDerm 7
- Do not moisten with hydrogen peroxide or povidone iodine
Storage Requirements
- Keep dry
- Store at room temperature (59°F–86°F).
