Engineered for patient comfort and ease of use, the FloCath™ catheter is coated with a hydrophilic layer that is activated by soaking the catheter in water for approximately 30 seconds. Once activated, the coating binds with water to create an extremely smooth, low-friction surface that remains consistent during both insertion and withdrawal. This helps reduce insertion force, tissue irritation, and discomfort while improving overall maneuverability. By eliminating the need to manually apply lubricant, the FloCath™ catheter also helps reduce the risk of contamination during catheterization.
