Vitále Silver Calcium Alginate Dressings and Ropes are composed of calcium alginate, sodium alginate, and sodium silver phosphate. Vitále STRONG Calcium Alginate Dressings are made of absorbent fibers produced by a special process. The dressing absorbs exudate and forms a gellike covering over the wound. This maintains a moist wound healing environment and keeps the dressing from adhering to the wound. Vitále STRONG Silver Calcium Alginate Dressings have been tested in vitro and found to be effective against bacteria such as: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Vitále STRONG Calcium Alginate Dressings with Antibacterial Silver are sterilized by exposure to Gamma Radiation, and must not be re-sterilized.
Features & Benefits
- Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial Protection: The silver component provides effective antibacterial action against a wide range of pathogens, reducing the risk of infection.
- Optimal Moist Healing Environment: The calcium alginate forms a gel upon contact with exudate, maintaining a moist wound environment that supports natural healing processes.
- High Absorbency: Efficiently absorbs and retains exudate, managing wound moisture levels and reducing the risk of maceration.
- Non-Adherent: The gel-like covering prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound, allowing for painless removal and minimizingtrauma to the wound bed.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for a variety of wounds, including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, trauma wounds, postoperative wounds, and graft and donor sites.
