3M Tempa·DOT Oral/Axillary Thermometer is a single-use thermometer specially designed for high accuracy and for the prevention of cross-contamination that can expose patients to infections such as COVID-19, C. difficile, MRSA, MDROs, Norovirus, Rotavirus and other HAIs. These infections are easily spread through casual person-to-person and object-to-person contact. Each dot changes color from tan to blue at a specific temperature relative to the melting point of the specific chemical mixture in the dot.The number of dots that fire is dependent upon the patient’s temperature. No risk of toxic mercury exposure makes this thermometer a nontoxic and safe choice for patients of all ages.

Instructions for use:

• Remove thermometer from wrapper.
• Place under tongue as for back as possible. Close mouth for 60 seconds.
• Remove then wait approximately 10 seconds. Some blue dots may disappear a device "locks" in for accuracy.
• Read temperature indicated by last blue dot.
• Record temperature and discard thermometer.
