Algicell Ag Calcium Alginate Dressing with Antimicrobial Silver is a primary wound dressing composed of Calcium Alginate and 1.4% silver. It is used to help in the treatment of wounds and to prevent bacterial development that can lead to infections. During the transition from debridement to the repair phase of wound healing, calcium alginate dressings are used on mild to heavily exudative wounds. These dressings should not be used on dry wounds since they lack moisturizing characteristics.
