Cardinal Health Four-Layer Compression Bandage System is designed to deliver effective levels of compression and sustained results. Containing everything necessary for the application of effective compression therapy — our two bandage systems ensure the correct components are just what your patients need. A multi-layer compression bandage system used for the treatment of venous leg ulcers and related conditions. It is developed for the treatment of mixed etiology leg ulcers where some degree of arterial impairment prevents the use of full compression. For Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) <0.6.
Features
- Latex-Free
- Non-Sterile
- Not made with natural rubber latex.
- May be left in place for up to one week.
- Maintains effective compression after application.
- Dimensions: 4 Inch X 3.8 Yard / 4 Inch X 3 Yard / 4 Inch X 3 Yard / 4 Inch X 2-7/10 Yard.
- Provides higher pressure at the ankle, decreasing pressure at the calf to help improve upward blood flow.
- Ideal for patients with ankle circumferences greater than 18cm or 7 8 inches (padded) and who have an ABI greater than 0.8.
Contraindications: Compression bandaging system SHOULD NOT BE USED on patients with an Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) of less than 0.8. An ABI of less than 0.8 may mean that the patient has arterial insufficiency and that the ulcer may not be simply a venostasis ulcer. Compression bandaging of a leg that already has a partially blocked blood supply could completely stop the flow of blood into the leg and lead to the death of the skin and muscle of the leg. Death of the muscle and skin of the leg could lead to further complications and possibly amputation of the leg.
