Cellera Vitale Petrolatum Dressings

Vitále Petrolatum Dressings are non-adherent occlusive strip dressings made of cotton gauze impregnated with white petrolatum. They maintain a moist wound environment to support healing. They cling & conform to body contours. Use beneath a secondary dressing, such as cover dressings or hydrocolloid dressings.

Petrolatum forms an occlusive barrier, holding moisture in the wound and protecting from environmental contamination. The Dressings may be cut or folded to fit the wound cavity or wrapped around extremities. Vitále Petrolatum Dressings are sterilized by exposure to gamma radiation and must not be resterilized.

How To Apply

1. Clean and rinse the wound, using saline or appropriate wound cleanser.
2. Skin around the wound should be clean & dry. Use a Skin Barrier Prep as needed.
3. Using aseptic techniques, remove dressing from package and apply to moist wound bed. Dressing may be cut to size.
4. Cover with a secondary absorbent dressing, such as cover or composite dressing or hydrocolloid dressing.
5. Dressing change as directed, when strike through occurs, or at least every 7 days.

Indications

Vitále Petrolatum Dressings can be used for management of wounds which are:

• Incision sites
• Donor sites & skin graft sites
• Abrasions & minor burns
• Primary Occlusive Layer

CAUTION

• Do not use in cases of known sensitivity to petrolatum. Wounds should be reviewed and appropriately managed, under the direction of a medical practitioner.

Contraindications : Vitále Petrolatum Dressings form an occlusive dressing, & as such are not indicated for highly exuding wounds.

Side Effects & Interactions: None have been observed to date.

Storage: Vitále Petrolatum Dressings should be stored in a cool & dry area. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.
