Vitale Silicone Foam Dressings have 3 layers:

1. The waterproof yet vapor permeable outer film is gentle and conformable for fragile skin.
2. An absorbent pad with two components: a polyurethane foam and a layer of super-absorbent fibers which is effective in regulating wound exudates for an ideal moist wound environment.
3. A soft silicone wound contact layer that is conformable for intimate skin contact. The silicone layer provides flexible adhesion, and passes exudates through to the absorbent layer, controlling excess moisture.

Vitale Silicone Foam Dressings are sterilized by ethylene oxide and must not be resterilized. The silicone adhesive allows the border to attach firmly yet gently to the peri-wound tissue, helping prevent breakdown of surrounding tissue. The silicone is elastic & flexible so that the border may be peeled back for inspection.

How To Apply

1. Clean and rinse the wound in the usual manner.
2. Remove the release paper exposing the soft silicone layer using sterile technique.
3. Place the Vitale Silicone Foam Dressing on the moist wound. The soft silicone contact layer is so flexible that it may be adhered directly to the wound bed and the border adhered to peri-wound tissue. Do not stretch the dressing while applying.
4. If the foam becomes saturated, exudates will leak out the side of the foam and may be observed in the border. When this occurs, the dressing should be changed.
5. Change dressing as directed, when the foam is saturated, or at least every 7 days.

• Indicated Wound Types: Pressure Sores, Arterial Ulcers, Venous Ulcers, Skin donor site, Diabetic Ulcers, Second Degree Burns

Note: Wounds being treated may have moderate to heavy exudate, and they may be superficial or deep.
