Excilon AMD sponges have superior absorbency and fast wicking action to help reduce infections and decrease the frequency of dressing changes. The unique pre-cut T-slit conforms snugly around drains, catheters, chest tubes, I.V.'s and tracheotomies. There are no loose threads to fall into wound. Sterile.Excilon AMD drain sponges are impregnated with PHMB (Polyhexamethylene Biguanide), a powerful yet safe antiseptic that has a broad range effectiveness against gram positive and gram negative microorganisms including some multi-drug resistant strains such as MRSA. Excilon AMD sponges resist bacterial colonization within the dressing, reduce bacterial penetration through the dressing and provide broad-spectrum protection. Two sponges per pack, 35 packs per box for total of 70 sponges.
