NasalCEASE is a natural based polymer, calcium alginate, derived from brown seaweed and through a proprietary process is manufactured into a unique stop bleeding product.
Features
- Stops nosebleed quickly As soon as BleedCEASE comes in contact with blood, calcium ions are released. Calcium is a clotting factor (Factor IV), which accelerates coagulation, stopping the nosebleed quickly.
- Easy / Painless Insertion The soft fibers of BleedCEASE allow it to be quickly and easily inserted into the nasal cavity without any discomfort.
- Absorbs Blood BleedCEASE continues to absorb blood throughout the duration of the nosebleed. This allows the nosebleed sufferer to insert BleedCEASE and forget about it until recommended removal, thirty minutes later.
- Promotes Healing As BleedCEASE absorbs blood, the sodium ions in the blood changes the packing from a dry mass into a moist or gelified mass. The moistness of the mass against the wound site promotes healing.
- Non stick Removal Since the BleedCEASE packing changes into a moist or gelified mass, it does not stick to new clots. This helps prevent resistance and pulling on clots during removal.
- No Rebleeds Disturbing new blood clots when using other materials in the nasal cavity causes rebleeds in 10% to 15% of cases, Since BleedCEASE doesn’t stick to new clots, there are no rebleeds.
Using Instructions:
For Nosebleeds
- Lean forward and gently blow nose to clear any clots
- Tear open a BleedCEASE sterile pack
- Twist or fold the packing for easy insertion
- Insert the packing all the way into the nasal cavity.
- Moisten BleedCEASE with saline solution (NaCl at 0.9%) for easier insertion into small nasal cavities
- Keep packing whole for insertion do not cut or pull apart
- Remove within 30 minutes by pinching between thumb and forefinger.
- If bleeding continues after removal, insert a second packing for another 30 minutes
- If you leave BleedCEASE in overnight, moisten it with saline solution (NaCl at 0.9%) before removal.
For Topical Bleeding
- Clean cut with soap and water or rinse with saline solution (NaCl at 0.9%) Tear
- Open a BleedCEASE sterile pack
- Depending on size of cut and amount of bleeding
- Use the entire BleedCEASE to cover the wound
- Fold BleedCEASE in half and cover the wound Apply pressure with fingers to the covered wound for one minute or until bleeding stops before removing
- When bleeding stops you can either remove the packing and cover with an adhesive bandage or leave BleedCEASE in place and cover with an adhesive bandage
