Smiths Medical Portex Tracheostoma Vents are made to keep the stoma open after tracheostomy and/or laryngectomy surgeries. The vent is more comfortable in extreme neck positions than rigid tubes and helps to lessen the issues associated with mucosa and stoma opening scarring. It also lessens the danger of tracheal wall perforations.
