Span America Pressureguard Apm2 Mattress With Digital Control Unit
Features
Span America pressureguard APM2 mattress with digital control unit features therapeutic Geo-Matt anti-shearing top surface; two-part Safety Edge; smooth, subtle shifts in weight-bearing in ten-minute cycles without sharp pressure drop-offs. PressureGuard provides a selectable audible alarm that can be engaged to alert caregivers to low pressure status. PressureGuard APM2 does not require disconnecting or exchanging of air lines. APM2 therapeutic mattress change instantly and easily from alternating pressure to basic lateral rotation with a single, recessed toggle switch. PressureGuard APM2 mattress has a "Low Pressure" indicator light which gives users at-a-glance assurance of proper function.
Shear Transfer Zones cover design- Prevents heels, sacrum, and scapula from "digging into" surface "Glides" user back to the original position following HOB elevation protects against damaging effects of micro shear, macro shear, and rotational (pivot-induced) shear The cover is bacteriostatic, fire-, fluid- and tear-resistant, cleanable, and replaceable.
Foam Topper- The exclusive Geo-Matt style foam topper is a high density, medical grade foam. The unique geometric design consists of over 800 individual cells, each of which acts individually to redistribute pressure, reduce heat and moisture buildup on the skin, and reduce shear to underlying tissues. This foam topper is 2" in height and includes the unique HeelSlope feature, designed to further reduce pressure for the sensitive heel area.
Safety Edge Bolsters- The Safety Edge consists of a firm 2-part foam bolster whose inner edge contours under pressure to direct the patient towards the center of the mattress. This adds to patient stability in sitting and lying down and helps prevent falls and entrapment between the siderail and the mattress.
Air Cylinders- The inflation system consists of four urethane air cylinders in standard models that run head to foot underneath the body and the foam topper. These cylinders perform the alternating pressure therapy and the lateral rotation therapy in the APM² models. Cylinders inflate and deflate in a fixed 10-minute cycle. The cycles and inflation levels are designed to provide and maintain low interface pressures throughout the mattress and to redistribute peak interface pressure points during the alternating cycle.
Digital Multi-function Control Unit- “Alternate” mode changes loading in 10-minute cycle; controlled at mattress for choice of lateral rotation or alternating pressure therapy.
“Float” mode provides powered flotation therapy.
Timed (20-minute) “Auto Firm” mode for transfers, ADLs, & CPR.
Simple, indexed comfort adjustment.
"Low Pressure” and “Power Failure” indicator lights and audible alarms.
