Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings (Standard & Thin) are adhesive wound contact dressings and now are made from a special odor eliminating formula. The adhesive layer contains polymers which enhance the dressing’s ability to contain wound exudate by forming a cohesive gel. Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings absorb wound fluid and provide a moist environment which supports the body’s healing process & promotes autolytic debridement (removal of necrotic material from the wound) without damaging new tissue. When wet with body fluids, the level of adhesion to wound tissue is reduced, allowing easy removal of the dressing and the contained exudates.

Vitále Standard Hydrocolloid Dressings provide superior absorptive capacity in a standard thickness hydrocolloid dressing, and they have tapered edges to discourage "roll-up". Vitále Thin Hydrocolloid Dressings provide excellent absorption in an “extra-thin” dressing that is highly flexible & comfortable. Vitále Thin Hydrocolloid Dressings are well-suited for areas subject to friction and/or requiring contouring, e.g. elbows, heels.

All Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings have a flexible water-resistant outer layer, which acts as a barrier to the wound against bacterial, viral & other external contamination. This minimizes the potential of exposure to nosocomial or infectious agents.

All Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings may be used alone or in combination with other wound care products as directed by your healthcare professional. Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings are sterilized by irradiation and must not be re-sterilized. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged. Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings are for single use only.

How To Apply

1. Clean and rinse the wound, using appropriate Wound Cleanser. Skin around the wound should be clean & dry.
2. Select a dressing that extends about 1” onto intact skin. If necessary, fold or cut to adjust to wound size. Apply the center of the dressing to the center of the wound, using clean technique.
3. Press gently, forming the dressing to the wound area and any folds or creases. Take care not to stretch the dressing. The dressing becomes more pliable as it absorbs heat from the body. Check the edges of the dressing to be sure that they are well adhered.
4. Change weekly, or more often, as needed. Change when the dressing is saturated with body fluids, if leakage or exudate is observed, or if the occlusive seal is broken. If used in the presence of necrotic tissue, the wound may appear to increase in size and depth during autolysis. This is a normal consequence of occlusive treatment. Rinse with a wound cleanser before wound assessment and applying a new dressing.

CAUTION:

• Do not use in cases of known sensitivity to Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings or any of their components.
• Do not use Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings on ulcers involving muscle, tendon, or bone.
• Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings should be used under the supervision of a health care professional.
• Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings may be used on infected wounds under medical supervision and with appropriate therapy & frequent monitoring.

Side Effects & Interactions: None have been observed to date.

Storage: Vitále Hydrocolloid Dressings should be stored in a cool & dry area. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.
